Royal Mail International Economy service

Royal Mail International Economy is a lower-cost service for sending heavier parcels outside the UK that do not need to arrive quickly. It includes compensation cover and free returns on undelivered items, with delivery aims from around two weeks to Western Europe.

To use this service you can purchase postage online, print the label yourself, and drop your item at the Post Office or a Royal Mail customer service point.

  • Maximum weight: 100g
  • Maximum dimensions: L 24cm x W 16.5cm x D 0.5cm
  • Examples: greetings cards, personal letters and postcards

Large Letters

  • Maximum weight: 750g
  • Maximum dimensions: L 35.3cm x W 25cm x D 2.5cm
  • Examples: magazines, CDs and DVDs

Parcels

  • Maximum weight: 2kg
  • Maximum dimensions: L 60cm, with length plus width plus depth under 90cm

Tubes and rolls

  • Maximum weight: 2kg
  • Maximum dimensions: L 90cm; the length plus twice the diameter must be less than 104cm, with the greatest dimension less than 90cm
