How to reset your scale to zero grams

To reset your scale to zero grams please follow the below simple steps:
NOTE: Please ensure the weighting platform is clear.
1. Press Options once.
2. Use the Review keys ▲▼ to scroll and select “Reset the Scales to Zero?”.
3. Confirm by pressing Enter/Yes.
4. The scales will reset and then show the correct weight.
How to resolve issues with your scale weighing erratically
To resolve issues with your scale weighting erratically please follow the below simple steps:
1. Turn the franking machine off at the power lead.
2. Remove the scale interface lead from the rear of the machine.
3. Re-insert the scale interface lead.
4. Re-insert the power lead and wait for the franking machine to re-initialise.
Scale not weighing correctly or “Enter Weight” message
Issue
The scale does not weigh the mail piece correctly.
Cause
There may be a communication issue between the scale and the franking machine.
Resolution
Communication issues between the scale and the franking machine may result in your scale not weighing correctly or in the message “Enter Weight”. Use these solutions to resolve your issue.
Solution 1: Reset the scale
1. Remove any items from the scale.
2. Press the “Menu / Options” key.
3. Press “Review (down)” until the display says “Reset the Scale to Zero?”.
4. Press “Enter / Yes”.
5. Test with an item of known weight, for example a £1 coin weighs 9g.
If the scale still does not weigh correctly, try Solution 2.
Solution 2: Reboot the franking machine and check the connections.
1. Unscrew the thumb screws on the scale cable and disconnect the cable.
2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the franking machine.
3. Wait one to three minutes.
4. While waiting, reconnect the scale cable and tighten the thumb screws.
5. Plug the power cable back in, ensuring that it is plugged directly into a wall outlet.
6. Once the franking machine restarts, test the scale with an item of known weight.
Activating/Disabling Weight Hold Mode
If you are unable to see the screen of your device when weighing your mail piece due to its size you can hold the weight on the screen to view once you have removed the mail piece.
1.Press Menu/Options.
2.Use the Review ▲▼ keys to scroll to “Change Setup”, then press Enter/yes to confirm.
3.Use the Review ▲▼ keys to scroll to “Change weight hold setup?”, then press Enter/yes to confirm.
4.Follow the prompts to turn the feature ON or OFF.
5.When finished, follow prompts to return to the Home screen.
