How do I create a custom preset on the Mailbase+?
A custom preset stores a combination of postage settings you can recall quickly.
- Press the Class key and select the class, extra services, ad or account options you want.
- Press the Down arrow and select Preset Options.
- Select Create New Custom Preset.
- Lift the cover and key in a name, then select Accept.
- Select Yes to store the settings – your preset is ready to use.
How do I set the Normal (default) preset on the Mailbase+?
The Normal Preset is the default the machine loads with your most-used settings.
- Select Class and choose your carrier, class and size (for example Royal Mail, 1st Class, Letter), then press Enter and check the screen shows the correct class.
- Press Menu, then Page Down.
- Select Preset Options, then Set Normal Preset.
- Select Yes to confirm the settings.
- Press Home – the Normal Preset is updated.
How do I delete a custom preset on the Mailbase+?
- Press Menu and Page Down if needed.
- Select Preset Options, then Page Down and select Delete Presets.
- Select the preset to delete, then Yes, Delete.
- Press Home.
How do I fix the ‘Invalid Preset’ message on the Mailbase+?
This appears when the machine cannot load the Normal Preset – often a scale issue, or because a class was removed in a Royal Mail rate change. First reseat the scale:
- Select Quit Presets to return to the home screen.
- Remove the scale, then replace it, making sure it is fitted properly and level.
- Press the Normal Preset key.
If the error returns, check the serial port setting:
- Select Load Partial Preset, then press Menu and select Setup.
- Page Down and select Serial Port, then Attached Scale.
- Press Custom Preset and select your preset, or press Normal Preset.
Note: If it still recurs, a class, ad or text message in your Normal Preset may no longer be available – select a new class and re-save the Normal Preset.
