How do I fix “Preset parameters are now invalid” on the DM110i, DM160i or DM220i?

Cause: The machine cannot load the Normal Preset. This can be caused by a scale issue, or by a Royal Mail rate change that removed a class, carrier or ad plate previously saved in the preset.

Step 1 — Reseat the scale:

  1. At the three-option prompt, select Exit. You return to the home screen.
  2. Remove the scale from the top of the machine.
  3. Replace the scale, ensuring it sits properly and is level.
  4. Press the Normal Preset key.

Step 2 — If the error reoccurs after reseating the scale:

The issue is likely that one of the preset elements (Class, Envelope Message or Ad) is no longer available. Select a new class and an envelope message, then re-save the Normal Preset following the steps above.

DM110i / DM160i / DM220i Presets – Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Normal Preset on the DM110i, DM160i or DM220i?

The Normal Preset is the machine’s default setting, automatically loaded on start-up. It stores your most commonly used carrier, class and envelope message.

How do I save my current settings as the default on the DM110i, DM160i or DM220i?

Select Custom Presets, then Define Normal Preset. Confirm when asked if current values are correct, then select Continue.

Why does my DM110i show “Preset parameters are now invalid”?

This usually occurs after a Royal Mail rate change that removed a class or ad previously stored in the preset, or because the scale is not seated correctly. Reseat the scale and re-save the Normal Preset with a new class and envelope message selection.
