How to replace the ink cartridge and print head, resolve print head error codes, and print refill and funds reports on the Pitney Bowes SendPro P Series franking machine.

How do I replace the ink cartridge on the SendPro P Series?

To replace the ink cartridge, select Replace ink cartridge (from the warning or via Settings), swap the cartridge and print a test sample.

  1. When the low ink or out of ink warning appears, select Replace ink cartridge. If there is no warning, go to Settings > Hardware > Printer, select the Ink cartridges tab and select Replace ink cartridge.
  2. Open the ink cartridge cover (if a cover-open message appears, select Clear message).
  3. Pull the ink cartridge straight out.
  4. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging.
  5. Hold the cartridge with the label facing upright and push it into place.
  6. Close the ink cartridge cover.
  7. Select Print test sample.
  8. Check the sample — if the lines are solid and unbroken it is acceptable.
  9. Select Image is OK – Done.

How do I replace the print head on the SendPro P Series?

To replace the print head, open Printer settings, install a new print head, then let the system prepare it and print a test sample.

  1. Select Settings under Mailing on the Home screen.
  2. Select Hardware, then Printer.
  3. Select the Print head tab, then Install new…
  4. Wait for the print carriage to be prepared and moved forward (this may take a minute).
  5. Open the printer cover, then the blue print head cover.
  6. Lift the blue print head handle to vertical, then lift the print head straight up and out.
  7. Remove the new print head from its packaging and shake it three times.
  8. Insert the new print head — the contact must face the front of the mailing system, and you should only apply pressure to the centre of the print head.
  9. Make sure the blue handle is down and close the blue print head cover.
  10. Close the printer cover. The system prepares the print head (this may take several minutes).
  11. When prompted, select Start or Tape to print a test sample.
  12. Check the sample — if the lines are solid and unbroken, select Image is OK – Done, then press Home.

How do I resolve print head error codes on the SendPro P Series?

Print head error codes such as 0418220041, 041822008D, 041822008E, 04182200B2, 0418220044 and 0418420038 usually mean the machine has detected a print head issue. To resolve them, clean the print head.

  1. Select Home.
  2. Select Settings, then Hardware, then Printer.
  3. Select Print head.
  4. Select Clean print head (cleaning takes about a minute; a progress bar shows the status).
  5. When cleaning finishes, you are prompted to print a test sample.

How do I print the Refill Summary report on the SendPro P Series?

The Refill Summary report shows the date, time and amount of the last 5 refills, the Postage by Phone account number, the machine serial number and the print date.

  1. From the Home screen, select Reports.
  2. Select Refill Summary.
  3. Select Start to print on an envelope, or Tape to print on tape.
  4. Select Done to return to the Home screen.

How do I reprint a refill receipt on the SendPro P Series?

To reprint your last refill receipt, open Reports and select Refill Receipt. This duplicate shows the refill date, the funds before and after the refill, the refill amount, your prepaid and Purchase Power balances, your PbP account number and the machine serial number.

  1. Select Reports on the Home screen.
  2. Select Refill Receipt.
  3. Select Start to print on an envelope, or Tape to print on tape.

How do I print the funds report on the SendPro P Series?

The funds report shows the funds available and used, total pieces, the control sum, the resettable piece count and value, your PbP account and indicia numbers, and the machine serial number.

  1. Select Reports from the Home screen.
  2. Select Funds Report.
  3. Select Start to print on an envelope, or Tape to print on tape.
