What does the ‘Low Battery’ or ‘URGENT Battery’ message mean?

The franking machine shows ‘Low Battery’, ‘URGENT Battery’ or ‘Low Urgent Battery’ and will not frank mail when one of its two internal batteries is running low and approaching end of life. The battery is part of the security device that protects your postage funds, so if it expires you could lose that information.

Pitney Bowes franking machines: DM60, SendPro C, SendPro+, SendPro C Auto and SendPro C Auto+.


How do I clear the battery error?

Pressing the Clear/Back button may clear the message and let you run mail temporarily. If it remains, reboot the machine:

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait one to three minutes.
  3. Plug the power cord back in, directly into a wall outlet.

Note: If the battery message returns after restarting, contact customer support – the battery protects your postage funds and may need replacing.
