What are presets on the Mailbase?
Presets are the settings your franking machine loads automatically when it starts – carrier, class, envelope message and so on. The Normal Preset is your default for your most-used setting, and you can also create custom presets. Select the settings you want first, then save them as a preset.
How do I create a Normal (default) preset on the Mailbase?
- Select Custom Presets.
- Select Define Normal Preset.
- At ‘Are all the current values correct?’, select Yes: Store Preset.
- Wait for ‘Preset 0 – Normal Preset successfully created’, then select Continue.
- Press Clear to return to the home screen.
How do I create a custom preset on the Mailbase?
- Select Custom Presets.
- Select Define New Preset.
- At ‘Are all the current values correct?’, select Yes: Store Preset.
- Give the preset a name using the number keys (press each key several times for letters), then press Enter/Yes.
- At ‘Preset successfully created’, select Continue.
- Press Clear to return to the home screen.
How do I delete a custom preset on the Mailbase?
- Select Custom Presets.
- Use the Page Down key to select Delete Preset.
- Use the Page Down / Page Up keys to select the preset to delete, then press Enter/Yes to confirm.
- At ‘Preset successfully cleared’, select Continue.
- Press Clear to return to the home screen.
How do I fix ‘Preset parameters are now invalid’ on the Mailbase?
This appears when the machine cannot load the Normal Preset – often a scale issue, or because a class was removed in a Royal Mail rate change. First reseat the scale:
- Select Exit to return to the home screen.
- Remove the scale from the top of the machine.
- Replace the scale, making sure it is fitted properly and level.
- Press the Normal Preset key.
Note: If the scale works but the error returns, a class, ad or text message in your Normal Preset may no longer be available – select a new class and envelope message and re-save the Normal Preset.
